The School

Our administration staff speaks English, German, Spanish, Danish and Russian.

The school has a beautiful garden and several terraces with wonderful views of the Mediterranean. The classrooms are bright and equipped with digital technologies to improve the teaching and learning of the Spanish language. We also have WI-FI in the whole building, a library and a small bar where you can buy drinks and some snacks.

The school is of medium size, we receive about 1400 students per year (about 1000 students in high season and 400 in low season), which allows us to treat each of our students individually and directly.

We care about the quality of teaching: we have been developing our own teaching material for more than 41 years and it is continuously adapted and revised by our teachers. The use of new technologies as a learning tool helps us to improve communication and interaction with our students.

We try to make the classes as diverse as possible in terms of the nationalities of the students to make their experience more enriching and to facilitate Spanish as the language of interaction between the students. In the formation of groups we try not to have big differences of ages.

The entire team is involved in direct contact with the students from the moment they arrive, whether it be through classes, during free time, farewell paella, cultural activities, etc. In addition, students are motivated to speak Spanish both in school and in the street from the very first day through everyday situations that encourage their learning and integration into Spanish culture, as we believe that the best way to learn Spanish is by sharing experiences.

The main objective of our courses is that the student acquires a good level of use of the Spanish language and that his discovery of the language is a source of personal and professional enrichment. To this end, we have a centre programme that has been specially designed to enable students to reach an optimum level of Spanish in a short space of time. We seek at all times to train our students in the effective use of Spanish in real communication situations, encouraging the integral use of the different skills and a recognition of their own communicative and learning strategies that provide them with greater autonomy and greater control of their own learning process.

We are of the opinion that a good knowledge of the linguistic structure applied to the daily practice can optimize the learning time, so our methodological approach is based on a communicative practice of structured contents (grammatical, functional, lexical…) of the language. In this way, we want to respond to the needs and demands of the majority of our students and at the same time allow different approaches to the objective of acquiring the target language, making possible a broad framework of action that covers the greatest number of learners, without forgetting within the scope of group work the personalized attention that each one requires.

We conceive evaluation as a fundamental part of the learning process and we carry out both continuous assessment and objective evaluation tests at the end of each level so that the student himself is aware of his progress and shortcomings.
